You’ll be able to see Tom’s A-Roll (read street footage) in the forthcoming Grindhouse Flick, to be released in the Autumn.

We can tell you we’ve had a cheeky peek at some footage and we’re hyped for it. More than hyped – we think it’s gonna change the face and reputation of UK snowboarding films forever.

Sophie Addison takes the trophy for steeziest lady skidboarder this side of the Urals – no mean feat, we can tell ya. She’s a lovely laydee too, so there.

Give him 5 minutes with the Grindhouse crew though and he’s all Bitchez this, Valaika that – it’s quite a transformation from the Chatt we once knew.

Apparently after this video was filmed, Chatt rode off into the woods holding his burning denim jacket aloft like some sort of sacrificial trophy before getting lost, prompting a chorus of “Yo! Where you at N-wordz?” – still being green and uneasy with the correct terminology and whether he was being a big fat racist or not.

But that wasn’t enough – showing some glimmers of the previous Chatt incarnation, he had to go and take it back to the 80′s roots, unsatisfied with today’s poor, vacuous imitations of rap music.

Since returning to the UK he can be found outside MK:Centre next to a piece of old lino listening to NWA on a massive ghetto blaster and hustlin’ old ladies for cigarettes and aerosols. Allegedly.

Quite timely one would say for all those heading off to Kaunertal for this years Snowboard Test shindig.

And Chris Chatt is the handplant king, so there.

We’re not sure what goes on in that apartment every year, but judging by the haunting, wailing screams, cackling and pleading for mercy that eminates at all times of the day and night, we can only assume it’s some sort of occult themed extravaganza.

Advertising aside, The Brits (British Ski and Snowboard Championships) thought we’d be the perfect people to produce the video content for this year’s event in Laax, Switzerland.

In addition to producing daily edits for the ski and snowboard events, we have been busy building this little ditty as an overview of the event, with some après and music thrown in.

We’ve just heard the news that The Extreme Sports channel are going to air the extended 22 minute version of this edit, which we’re really hyped about right now.

Look out for Jamie Nicholls’ IMMENSE slopestyle run, as well as many drunken voxpops from people who should probably know better!

Here is Scottish rider Jamie Trinder with his footage from the 2011/12 season.

If only he’d given us some shots for our film ‘Portrait’ (yeah, remember that?) he’d have got some decent editing – in fact the full post production treatment – behind those tricks and been a part of something marginally bigger.

On the bright side, it might not get lost in the barrage of season edits coming our way that nobody will be arsed to watch. Maybe.

However, Jamie Trinder has had a pretty good season there’s no denying that. He made us spit our coffee all over Braehead slope at the Burton High 5 Tour when he took the win, and his performance in Laax the other week (Brits) was outstanding. He absolutely killed it in the big air and slopestyle events.

Jamie Trinder, he’s one to watch – mark my words!

Blundell’s account of it all; ‘Australian filmer Mitch Ayers filmed us on our last afternoon at Northstar and put together a little edit, its really nicely filmed and has me, soph, Will Rad and Rich in it…..check it out and let us know what you think’.

There will always be complaints about Facebook/online voting – we’ve been guilty of it in the past – we came a cropper, learnt our lesson from it & vowed never again.

Looks like Nike have just done the same – you can’t blame them, after all they’ve got to show the production is working and reaching a measurable audience, especially when you’re pumping that amount of cash into a project. On the face of it, Facebook seems like the ideal choice – secure voting equals no cheating, one vote per person etc, etc.

But when it turns into a shit fight with riders pleading for votes, in turn being joined by everyone else – friends, blogs, mags, team managers et al pleading for votes, then times it by three over three consecutive days it gets 1 – desperate, 2 – embarrassing and 3 – counter productive. I think Nike may have realised this during day 1 of the vote off, but they can’t backtrack once an idea is in motion.

In my opinion, Nike should be applauded for their efforts with the Nike Chosen Series – they’ve been around the world picking up the best AM riders they can find in each country, brought them together to ride a groundbreaking unique setup with some of the best riders in the world. The riders then voted their favourite. This – at face value – is a killer format.

On a base level this is enough & would earn Nike respect and kudos throughout the snowboarding world – who else is doing anything like this? But when you add in endless teaser and daily edits, sketchy incomplete rider edits, an unfamiliar (and buggy) web interface, facebook spam and generally making a nuisance of yourself online I fear the effect this time has been a negative one.

Let’s hope they learn from it and continue to support legit snowboarding and snowboarders as they have done in the past.

Watching this edit it’s amazing to see just what a high standard Ben competes at, I guess we can sometimes forget that Ben is World Class and we get too hung up on numbers. But anyway after watching this it really put it in perspective… especially the slopestyle runs!

Gareth (Gazza, Gaz) Andrews is well known on the UK scene, a Forum and Special Blend rider who can be found lurking around SNO!zone Milton Keynes at the very hint of a rail setup.

Gazza posesses the annoying capability to make even the most technical of tricks look effortless and stylish – demonstrated here beautifully.

He also had a part in this year’s Grindhouse film ‘Prequel’, and is currently doing the student thing whilst popping out for the odd shred session to keep his boot in.
