BLOGZILLA: Fivers, Scots & new GTV

AUGUST 6TH, 2013

Hey there general populous!

Thought it might be time we got some sort of update blog type thing on the go to tell you all about what we’re up to. If we had anything about us we’d probably do this in video form – as it’s a video site – but what the hell. It’s good to do writing innit?

For starters, we hope you like the new website design? It seems to be going down well with people we’ve talked to, so bravo for us! I noticed the other day that I’d neglected to put a search box in, which was quite annoying, so I’ve added one in at the top. There are some other new features you may not have found yet, including infinite scrolling of thumbnails, a swishy big thumbnails/little thumbnails toggle button, and clickable categories on top of aforementioned thumbnails. We’ll be refining and adding some exciting new features in good time, so keep your ear to the ground, eh?

ACTUAL INTERESTING STUFF

So what’s actually going down on GONZILLA.TV? Well if you haven’t already, please watch Angus Malloch‘s new edit ‘Subject‘. It’s all shot in Snow Factor, Braehead and shows off just what that Angus Malloch has got, which it turns out is quite a lot actually. And he didn’t break anything pulling off that rodeo, as he has done time and time again in competition.

We’ve also got another wee Scottish edit from that Scottish Marc McClement who’s Scottish. It’s a selection of shots from ‘Go Big or Go Home‘ earlier this summer – you may recognise a few of our shots – but there are others too.

Marc is another ballsy rider who regularly goes upside down at Bearsden dry slope, but doing it TWICE on dry slope, off that kicker is pretty insane. But good to watch nonetheless.

Word on the street is that Marc is riding in some bargain basement boots he got for £30 and don’t fit him properly and hurt his feet. Word on the street is that Marc is definitely worth lobbing a pair of boots at as he’s a bloody rad snowboarder who goes out of his way to get coverage. Coverage that would show off those boots you just lobbed at him. Coverage that would bedazzle someone into thinking that if they had Marc’s boots, they could also do double rodeos off dry slope kickers. Just saying…

And also Mr Sean Miller may or may not be releasing the third episode of Defenders of Awkward, our series of videos from when the Capita team toured the UK last autumn. This time Scott Stevens, Jess Kimura, Tarquin Robbins and Joni Mäkinen visit The London Ski Show before heading up north to Manchester.

IN OTHER NEWS

We’re hopefully going to record a new episode of the GONZILLA.TV SHOW this week. We know it’s been a while – we did record one before, but we were so busy with other annoying stuff and things that by the time we came to edit it, it was pretty much out of date. Look how good it would have been:

Sophie may or may not be in this one, depending on trains. Them trains are bloody expensive to be fair, and we’re all poorer than a Greek tramp at the moment. We do have a very special interview we’ve been saving though, so she will be in it. Just maybe not on it.

Speaking of Sophie, look out for our ‘Fivers for Trannies… Again’ edit which should be dropping in the next couple of weeks. We spent a belting weekend up in Yorkshire last week, courtesy of Jonny Russell‘s fine hospitality.

The Fivers night was exceptional once again with the course stepped up a notch and loads of visiting riders. It was such a good night and great to catch up with everyone. We had a good crew from Scotland (see above) as well as from down south, Wales, Bristol – not to mention JAKE BLOODY OLSEN-ELM all the way from chuffin’ Minnesota! For one night Cas was the epicentre of the universe.

Ms Nicholls was once again on the mic causing havoc and confusing Jake OE with her accent! She still thinks Jake lives in ‘Mini Soda’ hahaha!

Until next time ‘zilla fans, now bog off.
